LIVE WEBINARS

Leadership is one of the most difficult responsibilities a person can assume, and it is necessary to have organizational support in place to aid in the navigation of these complex, nuanced waters.

Enter: ESSENTIALS LEADERSHIP SERIES (ELS)

This series of live webinars for leaders covers all of the topic areas a leader could need to feel supported and successful: psychological safety, managing virtual teams, setting expectations, belonging, communication and evaluating performance, among others. Each webinar is linked to a custom company-specific leadership competency.

Leaders throughout the company are given the opportunity to participate in these live, elective webinars to strengthen their awareness and sharpen their leadership skills.

Click play on the video below to view a clip from "Basics of Belonging," a webinar which illustrates for leaders the importance of a focus on the concept of belonging prior to day 1 of employment.

Each webinar provides an opportunity for engagement every 5 minutes via thought exercise, chat, poll or Q&A. This solidifies learning and keeps the attention of participants.

Elective (read: 100% optional) training opportunities are often overlooked, resulting in poor registration and turn-out. For this reason, I developed an elaborate advertising cadence of target marketing, email marketing and daily reminders that resulted in record-setting participation.

WEBINAR DESIGN

I rely primarily on graphics to illustrate complex concepts, with sporadic text to emphasize key points. Animations are used to move text and imagery on and off screen to add visual interest and create space for new concepts.

Learning is its own reward, but the incentivizing and gamification of learning is an even bigger one. Leaders are recognized company-wide for their participation in 3, 5 and 10 webinars and are awarded a certificate for their file.

One of the signatures of my design aesthetic is customized icons. Instead of using stock imagery, I create minimalistic, sleek icons that convey the message without distraction and promote solidification of knowledge for more visual learners.

Here, I use icons to introduce the 4 themes of team accountability in the webinar “Fundamentals of Accountability”.

ELS has received high acclaim across the company, but nothing made me happier than commendation from the company’s CEO.

I take the initial step of training development, Analysis, extremely seriously. In my initial Analysis phase for ELS, I conducted individual interviews and visited several facilities nation-wide. Based on the gaps identified in regard to leadership knowledge, skills and abilities, ELS was born.
